Seaver Franks completed a new chapel and separate youth building for Casas Church in Oro Valley.
The chapel recalls a modern interpretation of an Old Testament temple, with Outer court, Inner court and Inner Sanctuary. Modeled by an acoustical engineering study, the ceiling “clouds”, splayed walls and sloped floor create an interior for clear speech and music dispersion without mechanical amplification.
The youth building has a large multi-use space and classrooms. The design is a continuation of the campus’ building vocabulary and exemplifies Seaver Franks’ ability to work within existing parameters.
