Santa Cruz Elementary & Middle School
This state-of-the-art educational facility sits on a 10+ acre site. Using the “Little Red Schoolhouse” as a precedent to help establish the design criteria for the materials, details and roof forms. All the classroom layouts are the same to simplify all the student and staff needs. Each classroom pod has an administrative area, restrooms, storage, and electrical rooms. A 5,100 s.f. library/media center/ multi-purpose room is linked with the classrooms via a covered walkway, which creates a supervisable outside space for study or play.

Using a modified version of the “Summit View Prototype”, this project was slightly modified to accommodate TUSD curriculum on a site in west Tucson. All major areas of the prototype were utilized with some modifications to millwork in the classrooms, student computer locations and kitchen layout.

Summit View features 20 classrooms, a Multi-Purpose room, Learning Resource Center, pre-school, an art room, and a large computer classroom. Also featured are individual assembly areas outside of each pod of classrooms. These areas are designed for larger classroom interaction as well as providing a controlled environment during inclement weather. The kitchen is a full cooking kitchen that is connected directly to the Multi-Purpose room. A stage which can double as an extra classroom overlooks the Multi-Purpose room.

Mission Manor Elementary School was designed to replace an existing school and to provide modern technology and security for the students. This school is constructed of long lasting and long life material which will stand up to the day-to-day use, with entire interior space under one roof providing a comfortable learning environment. Mission Manor’s 30 classrooms are arranged around a central Learning Resource Center allowing easy access and includes secure points of entry into the school, flexible teaching areas and an integrated digital data system throughout.

Casas Christian School Casas Christian School
Seaver Franks is designing a new K-8 school campus in Oro Valley, a northern suburb of Tucson, which will include classrooms, a library, gymnasium, cafeteria, playgrounds, courtyards, and all associated site amenities. The campus will be a closed design offering maximum security for the students. Current plans show two phases with the first phase opening for the fall semester of 2010.
